Liberal Democrat Group Leader on Trafford MBC for over 20 years.

Ray is a lifelong resident of Timperley and has lived in Village Ward for over 40 years.

Married to Hazel with grown up children and grandchildren.

Ray is Chairman/Director of an engineering design Company he helped found 40 years ago.

Millennium Mayor of Trafford in 1999/2000, a high point in his 32 years as a Councillor.

Awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Years Honours List in 2002, for services to the Altrincham community, which included Youth Work, of 20 years of service as Chairman of the management committee of Altrincham Youth Centre, and 43 years of service in the 7th Altrincham Boy's Brigade Company (10 years as Captain).

Chairman of Village Ward Lib Dem Committee for over a very successful 40years.
Chairman of Broomwood Primary School Governors for over 20 years.
Vice-President of the Scouts in the Altrincham District.
Member of Timperley Civic Society.
Chairman of the Broomwood Partnership, former Vice-Chair of Traffords Area Board, and serving on numerous Council Committees and Working Groups.
A former member of the Shadow Trafford Housing Board Trust.
